Chaos Reigns as Contenders Shuffle in the Stretch
Week 10 delivered the kind of shakeup that makes November football special, where nothing feels safe and every possession means everything.
North Dakota State once again holds the crown at No. 1, continuing to look every bit the dynasty standard-bearer. Right behind them, the Big Sky muscle flexes hard with Montana and Montana State sitting at No. 2 and No. 3, piggybacking each other inside the top tier as they eye deep playoff runs.
The biggest headline? South Dakota State’s slide continues. Without quarterback Chase Mason behind center, the Jackrabbits’ offense has sputtered, dropping them to No. 10 after back-to-back uneven performances. Meanwhile, North Dakota took one of the week’s steepest falls, from No. 3 all the way to No. 9, proving that even a momentary lapse can shake a team’s footing this late in the year.
Tennessee Tech surges into the Top 5, Monmouth continues its steady climb, and Harvard keeps making noise as the highest-ranked Ivy at No. 7. Tarleton State and UC Davis find themselves on the outside of the Top 10 looking in, and for the first time in weeks, South Dakota (USD) reenters the poll, checking in at No. 22.
So much movement. So much mix-up. This week truly brought the chaos, and as we roll into the home stretch, buckle up. Things are about to get really interesting across the FCS landscape.
