After closing out their non-conference slate at 4-0, UTRGV Football will have its second road game as the Vaqueros will open the conference slate on the road versus Southeastern Louisiana. This will be the first conference game for the Vaqueros, as the rest of the schedule consists of all conference games.

Hammond, Louisiana, home of the Southeastern Louisiana Lions, plays their home games at Strawberry Stadium. The stadium was built in 1937 and seats 7,408 fans on game day. The stadium also hosts the Track and Field teams for Southeastern. The playing surface is a synthetic surface called SprinTurf.

As for the game, it is being tested on the road once again, which will build more of the true identity of the UTRGV Football team, as the Lions are coming off a payday loss to college playoff hopeful LSU Tigers. The Lions will be playing their second home game this season, with their only result being a win over Mississippi Valley State in week three. The Vaqueros look to string their second straight road win as they defeated Prairie View A&M on their last trip outside the 956. The Lions and Vaqueros are receiving attention from the coach's poll in its most recent edition. “It is going to be special going back to Strawberry Stadium.

They have a passionate fan base, they will be licking their wounds after their last result, and they have a stout defense that can put a hurting on anyone.” Head coach Travis Bush said during the weekly press conference. “They are perhaps one of the teams that can surprise anyone in this conference, and we will be getting our team prepared because this league can be difficult, especially when this conference has only had one playoff representative.”

The Opponent: Southeastern Louisiana

Record: 2-2

Where to Watch/Listen: ESPN+ or in the RGV on Radio: Ultra 90.1 FM | Laredo: Pure Country 95.7 FM
